Seiko Mens Prospex 1965 Diver's Modern Re-Interpretation Automatic Watch SPB147J1

Seiko Prospex '1965 Diver's Recreation' Automatic Brown Dial Black Silicone Strap Mens Watch SPB147J1 The Case: The case of this Seiko Prospex '1965 Diver's Recreation' Automatic SPB147J1 measures in at 40.5mm and it consists of super hard coated stainless steel material, which provides the watch with unparalleled durability and scratch resistance. The circular bushed design allows the bezel to take centerstage. The black and gold design is an extension of the design of the dial. The knurled edges of the bezel allow the wearer to easily rotate the unidirectional bezel. The position of the screw down crown at 3 o’clock also remains true to the original design of the 62MAS. The double domed sapphire crystal glass offers both durability and legibility, as it has been finished with an anti-reflective coating. On the flip side, there is a screw down case back which allows for greater protection against water. The Dial: This modern reinterpretation of Seiko’s first professional orientated dive watch offers greater visibility through a distinctive brushed bronze design. Seiko’s peerless level of craftsmanship is present through the rectangular markers, which stand out against the bronze dial due to their polished gilt finish, which gives the watch an opulent feel. Each marker has been filled with Lumibrite, which allows for readability in areas of low light. The golden baton-shaped hands are filled with the same luminous material for the majority of their length, and are ever-so-slightly pointed at the tip. A subdued, frameless, date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker and remains true to the minimalistic motif of the dial. Finally, the Seiko logo is present beneath the 12 o’clock mark. The Strap: The black silicone strap allows for additional wearer comfort and practicality. The original 62MAS also made use of a silicone strap. It is a material that is often present on dive watches due to its water resistance and durability. It fastens easily using a standard buckle. The Seiko logo is present on the clasp too. The Functions: 6R35 caliber automatic movement powers this timepiece, it also offers hacking and hand winding. Hacking is a function where the second hand stops once the crown is pulled out, allowing for precise timing once the crown is pushed in. The movement allows for a hand winding feature which by turning the crown, gives power to the watch. This 24 jewel movement offers an astounding 70 hour power reserve, as well as an accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day. Also, it has a water resistance of 200 metres.
